Seasons change; the Basilica Shrine remains

The summer solstice recently marked time shifting by the longest day and period of light. At the Basilica Shrine, we are in forward motion creating, solidifying, and beautifying spaces for you to join us. The constant in our progress is that at the heart, the Basilica Shrine will always be rooted in grace, with a firm foundation to settle your heart in faith, prayer, hope, and thanksgiving.

We have been busy! In addition to our traditional services and events, during the last week of June we:

  • Installed the Our Lady of Kibeho Shrine along our outdoor St. Vincent’s Rosary Walk. On August 17, 2025, please join us for the dedication of the Our Lady of Kibeho Shrine, which depicts Mary’s apparitions to three children in Rwanda.
  • Began moving art pieces from their current home on third floor of the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal. building to an updated convenient location, just steps away from the Basilica Shrine. The Fr. Joseph Skelly, CM, Marian-Christo Art Museum opening will take place later this summer.
  • Completed plaster work and fresh repainting inside and outside the Basilica Shrine. If you’ve seen recent photos and livestreams, or have been inside of the Basilica Shrine, you may have been wondering why there is scaffolding on the altar. We are always working to preserve the beauty and structure of this sacred space for now and generations to come.
