The program is named for the Miraculous Medal each child receives and is encouraged to keep on their backpack, serving as a daily reminder, throughout the school year and beyond, that Mary walks with them wherever they go.

• Location: Onsite at Your School – Beyond Sunday® team members bring the program directly to classrooms or school groups. Or at the Basilica Shrine – Groups are invited to the Shrine for the full experience of prayer, blessing, and investiture in a sacred setting.
• Length: Approximately 45 minutes
• Morning Sessions: 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.
• Afternoon Sessions: 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
• Available for single classes or entire school visits.

About This Program

Led by Beyond Sunday® team members from the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, the Backpack Blessing combines storytelling, catechesis, and devotion. Students learn about St. Catherine Labouré and the Miraculous Medal, then participate in a blessing and investiture that enrolls them into the worldwide Miraculous Medal Family.
