2026 Lenten Events at the Basilica Shrine

As we prepare to enter the solemn season of Lent, we welcome you to join us at The Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in fellowship and reflection, as we journey together through the 40 days of Lent.

“A voice proclaims: In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord! Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God! Every valley shall be lifted up, every mountain and hill made low.” (Isaiah 40:3)

Ash Wednesday and St. Carlo Acutis Exhibit

On Ash Wednesday, February 18, in addition to our 12:05 p.m. Mass, Basilica Shrine Rector Fr. John Kettelberger, CM, has graciously added an additional 6:30 p.m. Mass, to provide another opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist and receive ashes.

Coinciding with Ash Wednesday is the closing of the St. Carlo Acutis Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit, located on the Lower Level of the Basilica Shrine. The Exhibit runs from Friday, February 13, through Ash Wednesday. St. Carlo is the first millennial saint in the Catholic Church. We hope you will take the time to learn more about his life and contributions to the Church.

Please be sure to view our Worship and Events Calendar for dates and times of upcoming programs and services.

Soup and Bread Offers Weekly Reflection for Body and Soul Nourishment

Beginning Wednesday, February 25, following 12:05 p.m. Mass, and continuing every Wednesday throughout Lent, Fr. Kettelberger will be hosting Soup and Bread Gospel Reflections in the Lower Level of the Basilica Shrine.

Through this Lenten season of humility and hope, we encourage you to take time out of your lives to slow down and break bread with the Basilica Shrine community for weekly reflection and body and soul nourishment. Each week, Fr. Kettelberger will share a light meal of soup and bread paired with spiritual reflection based on the upcoming week’s Sunday Gospel. We invite you to gather in faith and fellowship during this season of introspection.

Friday Stations of the Cross

Fridays in Lent are devoted to Stations of the Cross: Mary’s Way of the Cross. Following 12:05 p.m. Mass each Friday during Lent, walk together with the Basilica Shrine community through Our Savior’s steps and suffering as viewed with silent strength and prayer, through the eyes of his loving mother.

All Lenten events at the Basilica Shrine are an invitation to gather in faith and reflect on the gifts of mercy and grace Our Lord bestowed upon us all by dying for our sins, so that we may have eternal life.

Please view our Worship & Events Calendar  to learn more about these and all upcoming programs and services at the Basilica Shrine. To make a donation, please visit our Support CAMM page.
