Pope Francis has called upon all Catholics to celebrate July 24 as World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly. In honor of this festive occasion, The Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the the Miraculous Medal Shrine the story of Assunta Cerrato Romero, whose family devotion to Our Lady’s Shrine spans four generations. This commemoration provides us all with the opportunity to strengthen our own family bonds by visiting the foot of Mary’s altar and praying to receive Her blessings.
