THE ASSUMPTION

The Assumption commemorates the divine act of taking Mary into Heaven, symbolizing the bountiful gifts of God’s first harvest.

ADORNMENT AND DONATIONS

As is tradition, we encourage you to bring gifts from your garden to the celebration. Adorn Our Lady’s Central Shrine Altar with beautiful flowers, and offer fruits and vegetables from your garden, which will be distributed to the needy after Mass as acts of generosity.

PLENARY INDULGENCES

This celebration also presents another opportunity to obtain a plenary indulgence, which Pope Francis has graciously bestowed as extraordinary privilege upon The Basilica Shrine. Additionally, priests will be available for confession starting at 10:30 a.m. as a special arrangement for the day. Remember, indulgences can be applied to ourselves or our departed loved ones.
