May Procession at the Shrine

May Procession at the Shrine

Hundreds of pilgrims gathered at the Shrine on a gloriously sunny spring day to participate in our annual May Procession and Novena in Honor of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal. Fr. Timothy Lyons, CM, led devotees in singing “Immaculate Mary, The Praises We Sing,” praying five decades of the Rosary, and visiting religious statues throughout the grounds. Among the faithful were about 40 7- and 8-year-old recent First Communicants from Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Philadelphia’s Roxborough section, who placed flowers at the foot of the Shrine before celebrating Mass.

ABOUT THIS EVENT

May is the month of our Blessed Mother. And at Mary’s Miraculous Medal Shrine, we’re having our annual May Procession to honor her with songs, the Rosary, Novena prayers, flowers, a special crown of roses, and a Mass. First Holy Communicants from IHM School will be presenting flowers to our Blessed Mother prior to the 12:05 p.m. Mass.

Come and lay flowers at Mary’s feet as you offer up your petitions and intentions. Everyone who has mailed us their intentions will have them placed in a basket, which we’ll carry to Mary’s altar during the procession.
