May Procession at the Shrine 2023
May Procession at the Basilica Shrine
Basilica Shrine recognized month of Mary by dedicating the recently completed outdoor Rosary Walk and shrine.
The Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal today celebrated Mary with its annual May Procession. At the event, The Basilica Shrine dedicated its newly completed St. Vincent’s Rosary Walk and Our Lady of Knock Shrine.
Fr. Timothy V. Lyons, CM, rector of The Basilica Shrine, blessed the new St. Vincent’s Rosary Walk and Our Lady of Knock Shrine. Named after the founder of the Congregation of the Mission (the Vincentians), the Rosary Walk features a meditation garden; a children’s Marian garden and a shrine and grotto dedicated to Our Lady of Knock.
“The dedication of St. Vincent’s Rosary Walk is a testament to our donors’ steadfast devotion to Our Lady,” said CAMM CEO Mary Jo Timlin-Hoag. “I’m grateful to everyone who worked to bring our vision of a prayerful green space to fruition at The Basilica Shrine.”
At the May Procession, participants honored Mary with songs of praise and worship, prayed the Rosary and Novena prayers, and celebrated Mass.

Last year, hundreds gathered at the Shrine to participate in our annual May Procession and Novena to honor of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal. Fr. Timothy Lyons, CM, led devotees in singing “Immaculate Mary, The Praises We Sing,” praying five decades of the Rosary, and visiting religious statues throughout the grounds.
