Creative Ways to Deepen Your Child’s Devotion to Mary

We have come up with ten creative ways to help your family deepen your devotion to Mary while having fun.

1. Marian Coloring Pages
Sometimes, the best way for your little “Michelangelos” and “Picassos” to unwind is to have their inner creative juices to flowing by having them color or paint. Whether it’s having them color in pages or sketching out pictures, they are sure to have a deeper connection with our Blessed Mother in a special way.
2. Miraculous Medal Craft
If you are looking for a fun Miraculous Medal craft for kids without breaking the bank, this is the craft for you! Check out this link, and it will give you a step-by-step process of how to create them. As your children create these medals, you can share a brief history of the Miraculous Medal and the blessings that have come about to those who wear them!
3. Kid-friendly Rosaries
If you have some pipe cleaners and pony beads, you are in luck! You can create some Kid-friendly rosaries with your children as you teach them the importance of praying the rosary. Make one or make twenty! They are so simple but very fun to make!! Once you are done, pray a decade of the rosary with them.

Kids love parties (and we do too)! How about hosting a Marian Tea Party with your kids? During this time, you can enjoy some tea and sweets with your kids while sharing stories about Mary and Jesus. It’s a great way to spend some time with one another while learning more about Mary!
6. Host a Marian Movie Night
There are so many free (and kid-friendly) YouTube videos that tell the story of Mary (and many other wonderful saints). Sit back and enjoy some popcorn while enjoying these videos with your kids.
7. Bible Skits/ Story Telling
Do your kids like to act or tell stories? If they do, you can encourage them to share stories about what they know or have them act out the stories. You can turn any parable or scripture passage into something fun for you and your kids.
8. Miraculous Medal Prayer Basketball Game
If your kids are into games, this activity is perfect for them. Print out the Miraculous Medal prayer and cut it up so there is one word on each piece of paper. Then set up a small bin to which your child must aim for with a small ball. When a goal is made, your child will be rewarded with a word. As your child receives words, he/she must do their best to arrange this prayer in correct order. Once they have completed this prayer, recite it with them. Play this game as many times as needed until they learn this prayer by heart. This is will be a highly engaging way to help your child learn the Miraculous Medal prayer.
9. Prayer Paper Bouquets
Are your kids trying to come up with ways to get in your good graces after misbehaving? This is the perfect craft for them! Your kids can help brighten your mood while filling up your house with some paper bouquets! These bouquets are easy and fun to make.
10. Sing and Dance with Jesus
Though this activity is not Marian-centered, it is definitely Christ-centered…. And this activity requires you to dance and sing with your children. There are so many great Christian songs out there that you can dance to or sing with! Have a Dance-off with your children or a Karaoke Contest!
