Rosary Walk Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is St. Vincent’s Rosary Walk?

St. Vincent’s Rosary Walk broke ground on October 25, 2021, and the Walk was finished October 1, 2022. The statue of Our Lady of Knock and the mosaic depicting the apparition (the Shrine and Grotto) were installed in time for the Basilica Shrine’s May Procession 2023 (May 1).

When will it be completed?

The first campaign in Shrine history with a $1 million goal broke ground on October 25, 2021. As of February 1, 2023, we are pleased to report that the Rosary Walk has been completed and we are at 93% of our fundraising goal. We anticipate by May Procession 2023; the grotto will be complete, and the mosaic and statue of Mary will be installed. At that time, our sacred space for prayer and reflection will be open to the public.

How can I participate?

We are accepting donations of any amount via our website. If you are interested in joining others in naming different aspects in memory of a loved one or to honor your family, please speak with the Institutional Advancement team.

What will it be used for?

In addition to expanding the spiritual experience for members of Mary’s Miraculous Medal Family, the Meditation Garden will serve as an outdoor sanctuary and green space for devotees. The Children’s Garden will provide an educational opportunity to teach the next generations of Catholics and Marian devotees to learn to pray the rosary and love the story of the Miraculous Medal.

How will the Walk be maintained in perpetuity?

After the construction costs are covered, the money raised will be placed in an endowment fund. The interest from the endowment will be used to pay for annual maintenance and upkeep.

Who makes decisions? Who has oversight?

Campaign committee, Vincentians, and the Leadership of Central Association of the Miraculous Medal.

How long can I take to pay off my pledge?

Your pledge commitment can be paid in many ways, including spacing out payments over three years.
